About

The spark ignited my 10th grade summer when I traveled to Italy on The Experiment in International Living.  A few years later, during a college semester abroad in Italy, I developed an unquenchable interest in Italian wine.  That’s when I knew I would spend the balance of my professional career doing something, anything related to wine.

Since 1987, my unwavering appreciation and admiration for Italian wine, food, and lifestyle has taken me to every region in Italy; up and down every major highway, and many a gravel road, big city and small town alike.  What started out as a project to write the definitive book on Italian wine turned into 30+ years of buying and selling some of Italy’s finest wines.

The thousands of Italian wines available, the vineyards they come from, and the people that make them have made Italian wines the most revered yet most misunderstood wines on earth.

I have been recognized by the national media, including Fortune, Black Enterprise, CNN, USA Today, and numerous other books and publications for my knowledge and passion of Italian wines.  But mostly I appreciate the love I receive from Italian growers who appreciate that I appreciate them.

At Vendemmia, we accept that our passion for wine and food comes with an expectation to share and enjoy these experiences responsibly.  We believe the enjoyment of food and wine is capable of transcending the table and creating memorable and valuable experiences that merit daily attention.  Vendemmia is a tribute to the skill and patience of the world’s finest artisans who strike a sublime balance between exacting skill and artful expression.
